Past- Director and co-founder of Hearing & Balance Centre at St Vincent’s Hospital, Darlinghurst, NSW from 1994 to 2003. Past-Chief audiologist at Hearing Research and Diagnostic Clinic, Darlinghurst, NSW from 1989 to 1994. Past-director (1994 to 2006) and past-president (2007) of the Australian Tinnitus Association NSW. Past-committee member and professional advisor of the Meniere’s Support Group of NSW Inc. Audiology Australia NSW FEC representative. Executive Committee member of Australian Association of Audiologist in Private Practice 

 

Malcolm_StewartMalcolm Stewart O.A.M. F.R.A.C.I., C.Chem., F.T.S.C

Malcolm Stewart graduated from Sydney University in 1948 with an honours science degree in chemistry. He became a Fellow of the Royal Australian Chemical Institute in 1971 and an international Fellow of the Technology of Surface Coatings in 1999. He was national president of the Surface Coatings Association Australia in 1971 and is now an honorary life member of both the R.A.C.I. and S.C.A.A. through his service in the industry. 

Malcolm became the inaugural president of the Meniere's Support Group of NSW Inc., in 1994. In 1998 he began looking at starting Meniere's disease research in Australia. In 2001, through his efforts and the assistance of Prof. Bill Gibson and Bruce Kirkpatrick the Meniere's Research Fund commenced as a sub-committee of the Meniere's Support Group of NSW Inc., supported by the Medical Foundation, The University of Sydney with Malcolm as the founding chairman until 2005. 

Malcolm was awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia in the 2008 Queen's Birthday Honours for his service to the Meniere's Support Group of NSW Inc. and the Meniere's Research Fund. 

Anne_StewartAnne Stewart OAM (2003)

Elizabeth Anne Stewart (known as Anne) received the Medal of the Order of Australia in 2003 for service to the community, particularly the Meniere’s Support Group of NSW Inc., of which she was founding secretary/coordinator and editor from 1994 to 2004 and she became a Life Member of the support group in 2004. She was a director, and in November 1998, Chairperson of Deafness Forum Limited, the national secretariat of deaf and hearing impaired people. Prior to this she worked as a medical secretary for many years.

She appears in Who’s Who of Australian Women. Anne has had Meniere’s disease since 1983 and still lives in fear of it.
